In The Loop !!EXCLUSIVE!!
In this image from the NOAA Environmental Visualization Lab, the loop current in the center of the Gulf of Mexico is large and warm, while winter-chilled water draining the Mississippi River watershed envelop the bayous and bays of Louisiana.
In the Loop
Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation is a type of real-time simulation. You use HIL simulation to test your controller design. HIL simulation shows how your controller responds in real time to realistic virtual stimuli. You can also use HIL to determine if your physical system (plant) model is valid.
Software-in-the-loop (SIL) is a method of testing and validating code in a simulation environment in order to quickly and cost-effectively catch bugs and improve the quality of the code. Typically, SIL testing is conducted in the early stages of the software development process, while the more complex, costlier hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing is done in later stages. 041b061a72
